The ties are deepening between Russia, China and Iran....Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in person today in Uzbekistan. It marks the first time President Xi has left China in 2 1/2 years! They are there for a regional summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) which is made up of China, Russia, India, Pakistan and four ex-Soviet Central Asian countries. The SCO was set up in 2001 as a political, economic and security organization to rival Western institutions. Iranian President Raisi says Iran will pursue a membership in the SCO as well.
